If you want to walk, get someone to snare you or use slowing skills.

Have you ever looked at the character animations when you are snared? It appears that you are still trying to run, but not effectively. Also, it is kind of hard to get someone to snare me when I am in PvE. Sure, their are lots of monsters who will, but doesn't really help with the making of the relaxed video or whatever.
No real reason not to support this.

Edit: There are some quests in PvE where this could actually be useful. It seems that almost any quest where you need to escort someone somewhere (Family Ties for example) the NPC that you escort walks the entire way while you run. If you had the option of just walking with them it would be nice to do. (Would prefer a toggle run off/on as opposed to a key that I must hold to walk.)

Would be a nice little addition, but unlikely. I think that's why Grotto was such a popular hangout place before nightfall.

I find that I always bring a speed buff to try and go faster, I also just do not see the point in this, a pure waste of time for the programmers.

Adding a key like this would actually not take that much time imo...
Of course, I have never worked on a complicated C++ programming team so I may be throwing out an opinion that is blatantly obvious in it's incorrectness.
After I read through all the opinions that people posted in this thread I find no real reason that we could not propose a walk button. Guru isn't the only place that players post suggestions for the game and if the design and programming teams decide that it isn't worth the time to implement it then so be it, at least we tried to send them a message on how some players would like the game to be changed and the change would even be something that would be optional! An optional animation choice doesn't seem like that much of a threat to me...
/Quadruple signed (I also love making movies, it just didn't fit with the whole vibe of that rant) xD

Also, if I wanted to enjoy lush jungles and beaches, I'd play a game with decent graphics, like Far Cry or Crysis, whose "lush jungles and beaches" on medium are 50x better than Guild Wars on Max.

What advantages does the beautiful scenery have? What advantages do rare weapons have? The argument that this won't contribute anything is a poor argument. This isn't anything incredibly monumental to implement and is useful for filming, or just getting around w/o looking like you're in a rush.

I really think you just contradicted yourself there. You basically said "This has no point, it doesn't contribute anything, but I agree with it."

if you want to look like a pro... its obvious you have to do the mission as fast as possible no breaks no stop in the action of pwning lvl 5 charr for noobies to make your ePeen look bigger then actual size.
And if you want to look at the enviroment... you could just...

I don't see why not. Having a walk key isn't going to hurt anybody, and people who want to walk for whatever reason can.
